Dentures
What are they: Dentures are sets of artificial teeth set into plastic frameworks that rest directly on the gums.
Who is a candidate: Partial dentures are used for people with several teeth missing and whose teeth aren’t strong enough to support a bridge. Complete dentures are used for those who have lost all of their upper or lower teeth.
Visits: Three to five visits are required to obtain gum impressions and fit the dentures properly. After you receive the dentures, several more visits may be necessary to make minor adjustments.
Partial Dentures: Clasps fit onto the adjoining natural teeth, and the framework fits directly on the gums.
Complete Dentures: Complete dentures replace all the teeth in a jaw and fit directly on the gums and supporting bone.
